Covid-19: Seven Oxygen plants from Germany reach Srinagar | KNO

Srinagar, May 17 (KNO): With several Covid-hit states reeling under an acute shortage of medical oxygen, the Centre has boosted efforts to ensure adequate supply of the crucial gas and under such initiative J&K UT on Monday received seven oxygen plants. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that seven oxygen plants with a capacity of over 7000 Litres per minute capacity reached Srinagar Airport on Monday from Munich Germany. They said that these plants will further boost oxygen capacity in the UT and will help us to deal with the deadly Covid-19. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha thanked PM Narendra Modi for these oxygen plants , whereas Advisor Baseer Ahmad Khan received Plants at Airport in Srinagar. "My deepest gratitude to Honble PM Narendra Modi for providing 7 Oxygen plants to JK UT. With his intervention, these Oxygen plants were airlifted by IAF_MCC from Munich, Germany and safely landed at Srinagar Airport today at 12:45PM." tweeted office of the LG. "New Oxygen Plants including 5 of 1000 LPM, one of 1500 LPM and one of 600 LPM capacity will further add 7100 LPM to the existing availability. This will hugely augment oxygen supply to the UT health infrastructure," LG’s Office tweeted later Advisor Baseer Khan while speaking to reporters after receiving the plants at Srinagar Airport thanked PM Modi, LG Manoj Sinha, Air force and Customs for bringing these plants in the shortest possible time. He said that the oxygen requirement is increasing with each passing day and these plants will help us to deal with the situation. He said that with these plants we can easily cater the patients now and commencing of these plants will start within three days He said that now we can also increase oxygen supported beds in Kashmir and can increase oxygen supply of hospitals as well. He was accompanied by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Chief Engineer Mechanical and other officials—(KNO)
